In and Out

Thursday I flew into Columbus Ohio to give a presentation... and flew back to Dulles a few hours later.

One day trips are odd, it feels like you've scheduled yourself a layover instead of a destination.

Independence Air was pretty cool. This was the first time I've used them. They have celebrities record the safety instructions and play them back before the flight. Leaving Dulles, it was James Carville and Mary Matalin alternatively speaking to (and poking fun at) the “left” and “right” sides of the cabin. The only part I remember was during the oxygen mask part. Something like "If you have any congressmen, children, or anyone else who can't react quickly, please secure your own mask first....". Leaving Ohio it was Dennis Miller.
Other cool things about them:
1. It was only $230 for a same day round trip ticket on 3 days notice.
2. All the seats were leather.
3. I got a hot towel.

In other news: if the weather holds up we have a kickball scrimmage today.

Cabs in New York used to have celebrities read safety announcements. It was great because they were always extreme C list types whou you could laugh at for being so reduced in stature. Thank you for telling me to buckle up Bernadette Peters. Your concern is appreciated.
